Ignatian Spirituality

For over 25 years now, our parish has been receiving the benefits of the spirituality of St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus. Through many parish programs and activities, inspiring homilies and prayerful guidance, the people of St. Anthony’s have been instilled with the Ignatian attitudes of seeing God in all things and doing all for the greater glory of God. At present, our parish has a flourishing Ignatian Spirituality Program, which is led mainly by a lay leadership team (the Friends of Ignatius), most of whom have experienced the Spiritual Exercises in the last few years.

Meeting Christ in Prayer
an 8-week program, invites retreatants to a deeper relationship with Jesus through different types of daily prayer and a weekly faith-sharing meeting. This program is a wonderful introduction to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola. For more information.

19th Annotation Retreat
the Spiritual Exercises, modified for people in the modern world, is given over an eight-month period under the guidance of a spiritual director. It is offered individually or in group settings. For many, the graces received during this retreat can last a lifetime.

For more information about our Ignatian Spirituality Program, please contact 516-764-0048, ext. 2510.

Rosary Altar Society

This Society was started in 1962, with its motto being “To Jesus Through Mary.”

The Rosary Altar Society is to praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, to recite the Rosary for the spiritual benefit of all members, and to raise funds for the Church.

The Rosary Altar Society assists the parish through its works of service by maintaining the altars and the altar linens throughout the year.

The meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month from September to June at 7:00pm in the cafeteria.
